Year-round mechanical service using the latest diagnostic equipment. We service most makes of I/O's and inboards — MerCruiser, Volvo Penta, Indmar, Mercury, Chris-Craft, Honda, Yamaha, Johnson/Evinrude.
Indoor secured year-round or off-season storage in modern, clean facilities. Outdoor storage at our St. Bonifacius location with full service and shrinkwrap. Spring service: battery charging, bath, engine run-up — boat ready to launch.
Marine parts and accessories for almost every brand — Mercury, MerCruiser, Volvo, OMC, Chris-Craft, Chrysler, Honda, Johnson/Evinrude, Yamaha and dozens more. Don't see what you need? We'll get it.
Most shops close after Labor Day. We stay open — restorations, rebuilds, refinishing, all done while your boat is already out of the water. Come spring, it's ready to launch, not waiting in line.
Every boat that comes through our doors gets the same treatment: hand-sanded, hand-finished, sea-trialed, and walked back down the ramp. No shortcuts. The boat that leaves is the boat we'd put our own name on.

Andy Williamson, founder
Andy Williamson opens Midwest Boat Appeal, offering boat cleaning and detailing services on Lake Minnetonka.
Added fiberglass and gel coat repair alongside wood refinishing — full-service in two short years.
Larger lakefront site enables bigger refinishing and restoration projects. Winterizing and winter storage added.
Purchased the current site between Lake Minnetonka and Lake Waconia. Full mechanical service added.
Formerly of Eagan, MN. Brought a full line of imported BS-rated marine plywood under our roof — used in-shop and sold retail and wholesale.
Brought the Skiff Craft classic wooden boat marque under ownership — adding a century-old heritage brand to the business.
"Midwest Boat Appeal prides itself on experience, knowledge and integrity. Every customer gets 100% effort, every time."
We're looking for people who take pride in their craft. Experience with wood boats, fiberglass, or marine finishing a plus — but a strong work ethic and attention to detail matter most.

Every manufacturer is different, but we recommend every year during winterizing.
Every 1–3 years depending on the model.
Checked annually, changed every other year.
To prevent external lower-unit corrosion, anodes should be changed every 2–3 years.
Every 2 years.
Typically no — most props can be rebuilt to factory spec for much less than new.
Varies by model, but every other year is good practice.
Ideally buffed and waxed in the spring, with a secondary coat of wax mid-summer.
Every 2–4 years, depending on the type of paint required.
